The UK and Barcelona Citrix user groups are currently collaborating on sourcing a shared apartment in Barcelona to use a base during the busy week of Summit and Synergy.
Why we are doing this
Many user group members consist of consultants who cannot claim expensive hotel costs back to their employers. As such, accommodation often forms a significant portion of the expense of attending Summit and Synergy. For some, it can even become a barrier to attend, so we’re renting a shared apartment to reduce this cost.
How much will it cost?
The price depends on the number of people we can get sharing. Based on 4 people sharing, a large apartment would be €45 per day reducing to €37 for 8 people sharing. This compares very well to the cheapest Synergy conference hotel of €183 per night.
What facilities will be available?
Given we’re all IT professionals, we’re only considering properties that have internet access to allow blogging, remote working etc. Most apartments have air conditioning, cooking and washing facilities.
Partners welcome
No, I don’t mean Solution Advisors! If you are planning on bringing your wife/husband/partner, many of the rooms will be double, so partners are more than welcome.
